SEVERAL CIRCLES - Kandinsky

Several Circles ~ 1926
Kandinsky believed that the circle has symbolic significance relating to the mysteries of the universe.  The circle is considered the symbol of infinity, without beginning or end, perfect, the ultimate geometric symbol.  Because of its lack of sharp edges, the circle associates with Divine perfection and balance.  In some spiritual traditions, the circle is seen as a representation of the state of enlightenment.  The circle's rounded, enclosed shape evokes a sense of security and protection, of warmth and welcome.

The circle of life is a symbolic representation of birth, survival and death.  The idea of life as a circle or a wheel exists across multiple religions and philosophies.  "Life is represented as a circle because it is a constant loop."  At every moment, people are born and people are dying.

Circle of Life
From the day we arrive on the planet
And, blinking, step into the sun
There's more to see than can ever be seen
More to do than can ever be done.

There's far too much to take in here
More to find than can ever be found
But the sun rolling high
Through the sapphire sky
Keeps great and small on the endless round
It's the Circle of Life
And it moves us all.

Personally, I think this photograph captures the essence of the Circle of Life.......
