"When cardinals appear, angels are near." |
The male Cardinal is crimson red, the same color as the robes worn by the Catholic Church's College of Cardinals.College of Cardinals
St. Peters Basilica, Rome- The Northern Cardinal has graced more Christmas cards than any other bird. It symbolizes hope, joy and connection to those who are no longer with us.
- The Cardinal's vibrant red feathers and the sound of its sweet whistle (sounding like cheer, cheer, cheer) remind us that beauty exists even during the coldest and darkest of times.
Such a beautiful bird…I have seen only one in all the years I have been out here…is a real treat when I am back to see them flock to my brothers bird feeder!,,,M
ReplyDeleteSoon after my brother passed, one day I was thinking of him. Just happened to look out the window and there was a male cardinal. I was so pleased.
ReplyDeleteM.....you may not have cardinals, but you do foster a special bird dressed in blue, right?
ReplyDeleteAnonymous.....this phenomenon happens frequently. I myself have had an amazing experience concerning cardinals. Our little beliefs help us understand, maybe, that there's more to living than just being here for a short while and then being completely erased. Thank you for your comment.
ReplyDeleteWooley likes to watch Cardinals out our back patio door.
