THE LAWS OF THE UNIVERSE - Law of Correspondence

The Law of Correspondence: What's Going On Inside You Is Already Showing Up Around You - Life Coach Hub

Another pretty day in my world.....let's trolley onward to the next Law of the Universe.....

The Law of Correspondence

~Where our attention goes, energy flows~

This law explains how our internal environment reflects our external environment.  In other words, our external lives are a reflection of what's going on inside us.

We are in control of our lives, to a point, and the law of action allows us to make changes.  Every action we take is reflected in the outer world and in our inner world.  For example, if your mind is totally consumed by how unhappy you are, then you'll continue to have negative energy.  This, in turn, will make you remain unhappy.

Applying the Law of Correspondence can be very helpful.  It emphasizes how important it is to be consciously aware of what you're allowing around you, because this impacts what shows up within you.  We have to pay attention to the things we allow in and around us, and decide what fits with our genuine self.  Example:  If the evening rendition of fake news is upsetting, then don't watch the evening news.  I write this as an example, because I realize that's what I do to keep my mind at peace.   Why keep walking barefoot on shards of glass?  This is where we reach into our tool box and re-align our actions to respect and better our well-being.  We absolutely do have the ability to counteract negativity with something positive that will bring us back into alignment.

We're living in a highly charged society that's riddled with a high concentration of negative and problematic elements.  It's up to oneself to notice what drains us and what inspires us.  In essence, the law of correspondence means that we are what we give our attention to.  The main thing to remember, is that what energizes one, may drain the other.

How do we make use of the Law of Correspondence?  WE CAN.....

  • pay attention to the thoughts that continuously rattle on inside our heads and our body's response to them, especially the negative ones.
  • examine our life experiences for patterns.  If we keep on facing similar challenges or attract certain types of people, this may be a reflection of our inner state.  It could be a reflection of things we do.
  • remember that we tell the Universe how to communicate with us.  If  we are angry, the Universe will respond with anger.  If we are happy, the Universe will respond with happiness.
  • remember that anxiety is fear of the future, and depression is fear from the past.  Why are we anxious about what is to come?  Why do we keep putting ourselves through the pain of the past?  The past is gone, and the future isn't here.  What is here is THE NOW.  We have to think hard about this when we're trying to re-align our well-being.
Sidebar:  I worry too much about the future of growing old and the zillion possibilities.  There's a lot for us to worry about, like our physical decline, loss of independence and the fear of the expiration date itself.  The more I learn from these Laws of the Universe, the more I'm realizing just how much worrying about the unknown can screw me up.

How many of our fears and beliefs are based on cultural stereotypes or prejudices? The Western world doesn't put the elderly on the pedestal they deserve.  There isn't a day that the media doesn't bellow (I say beller) something about the loss of brain cells and diminishing mental capacity of the aged.  The news is always spewing out warning signs of Alzheimer's and Dementia.  Why do they care about that when they don't care about us as a whole?  It's imperative that we put on our suits of wisdom and lift our thinking to higher ground.  No news dweeb is gonna overpower me.  Ever.

Sure, late life presents us with the challenges of pain and loss.  BUT, haven't we been experiencing pain and loss all of our lives?  I sure have.  If we baby boomers can't handle pain and loss, who out there can?  I'm learning that I've got to shift the focus of my brain from fearing my elder years to realizing that I've got the tools in my tool box to take on whatever late life gives me.   Bad things, and thinking about them, will never go away, but we don't have to provide them with a luxury suite inside our brains.

Bottom line:  Our late years will correspond to our inner strength and resilience.  That's the Universal Law of Correspondence.
