Law of Cause and Effect
Example: It is raining. The ground is wet.
rain (cause) wet ground (effect)
The Law of Cause and Effect as it relates to the mind explains how we create our reality through our thoughts, our feelings and our actions. Everything we create in life we create within us. If I'm overweight, I can't expect to be healthy if the reason is the result of my constantly thinking about food, deciding to eat unhealthy foods, and not controlling the amount of food I eat. The universe doesn't work that way.
So how do we put this universal law to our advantage? WE CAN...
- aim our thoughts toward abundance rather than lack. The thoughts we generate repeatedly are the primary causes creating the effects in our life.
- break the cycle of unhealthy thought patterns and behaviors. We have it within our power to master our reality. Example: If I'm overweight and unhappy, why don't I change my eating habits and achieve the weight that I'm comfortable with.
- think for ourselves. I personally refuse to be part of the mass mentality. Every day we face a tsunami of nauseating sensationalism. It's intended to provoke anger and violence, and we witness the effect it has on our society and the way it behaves. If My Creator gave me a brain, more than likely He intended that I use MY brain and not SOMEONE ELSE's brain. If I can't think for myself, that makes me weak and a follower, with no control over what happens to me. Only my brain can bring me happiness. My neighbor's brain cannot bring me happiness. If we don't use our brains, then we are not being true to Our Creator nor to ourselves.
- pay close attention to our daily choices and actions. Again, if I'm eating potato chips, is that going to make me lose weight? If I eat the chips, then I choose to stay overweight. If I don't eat the chips, I choose to be at a healthy weight. Choices matter.
We are never too old to learn, to change and to better understand this life that we were born into. This is exactly what is known as the wisdom that comes with age. For as long as my mind remains healthy, I promise to keep myself aligned to my North Star...the place where my brain knows and feels the comfort of Truth and boundless Love.
