SPRING FLING

Last weekend's time change pushed me into the SPRING season.  When the clock springs forward, so do I.  Not doing that would feel like having one foot over the finish line and the other foot still in the race.

Each of us has things going on in our respective lives that are close and personal.  Things that require the mind to maybe make an adjustment and maybe tweak a thing or two.  That's where I am right now.  My mind screams at me to make a few changes in my life, and what better time than right now.

Springtime is the ideal season for starting something new.  The blooming flowers, warm weather and longer days shine on the idea of setting the stage for a positive new chapter in one's life.  The shift from winter to spring can be a metaphor for such a change.  Right now is the perfect time to hit the reset button.

Age plays no part in doing this.  Every year that we are gifted to live gives us a chance to sweep out our old space, freshen things up and block out the things that rob us of peace of mind.  Despite life's chaos, we do have the opportunity to maintain our composure.

This endeavor can be intensely private.  No one has to know, and that's part of the fun of it.  Positive efforts will be noticed in due time.  We've all heard about a 'spring fling.'  What a perfect baptismal name for a fresh start.....starting right now, today.  I'm gonna fling myself into spring and walk in the meadows sprinkled with colorful little things that make me happy.  Getting started and staying started are the toughest of any new pathway.  Personal perseverance and patience are my choice arrows in my quiver of self-protection.

Strength does not come from physical capacity.  It comes from an indomitable will. ~Mahatma Gandhi

What we achieve inwardly will change outer reality.  ~Plutarch

The world breaks everyone, and afterward, some are strong at the broken places.  ~Ernest Hemmingway

No one saves us but ourselves.  No one can and no one may.  We ourselves must walk the path.  ~Buddha
